Windows 10: Drive image cannot log in. Places user into a temporary account

I created an image of an older computer running win10 onto a different drive. When installed on my newer computer running win11 I cannot boot from it completely different hardware creating some driver issues but I can view all user generated files. I occasionally run into privilege issues when transferring certain program files. When I reinstall the new drive into the old computer however it will boot into windows but when it comes to logging in it will accept the correct password, show a very long preparing windows screen, and then tell me that the login failed and that I'm in a temporary

Thank-you all for your time and suggestions. I am going to approach this from a different angle.
"If this image appears on my login screen, it must exist and can be found somewhere within Windows."
Is that a true statement?

Success. I can't begin to Thank everyone for your suggestions. By re-reading and tenacious effort, (that's for you; win10tweaker) I no longer have an account image at logon. After all attempts, in the end, probably after multiple "near miss"(s), here's what worked through GPEDIT.MSC;


Be aware that the image you choose MUST be a truly transparent .png. I have been a "graphics guy" for over 30 years and know a few things about this. I tried many www transparent images only to get either a white or black result. I had to re-create my own "0 bit" image in Photoshop.Here it is: (Don't be fooled if it appears black here)

I understand your approach, delete the file and it should be gone. You could try searching user*.bmp & .png and hopefully find them all. I know from experience that saving the blank user.png file works 100% for me.







I'd suggest using the portable version of 'Everything Search' by Void Tools. It's incredibly much faster than Windows Explorer.
