Windows 10: On starting my HP Envy desktop i got the bitlocker recovery screen.

On another device I opened my microsoft account and found a recovery key for the device and entered it. However, i get the message that it is the wrong key. In my account the key is an 8 digit alphanumeric. The blue bitlocker screen says the key id is an 8-4-4 4-11 alphanumeric. Please help?

What puzzles me is why the Bitlocker recovery key is not listed on the microsoft account, but there is a recovery key listed there for a computer I do not recognise.

I have several laptops but only the HP Envy has had Bitlocker on it. So what key is this on my account? And why isn't the Envy key there?

unable to turn on bitlocker on hp envy

So I have a hp envy that uses windows 10. I've been trying to turn on my bitlocker so I can use encryption, but whenever I try or click on bitlocker setting to turn it on nothing comes up and I don't know how I can turn it on.
