  1. My laptop's speaker sounds terrible after I change the audio driver

Hello, so in short, I recently bought a new wired IEM and its sound great when I plug it to my phone, but when I plug it to my laptop it sounds terrible, so i look for tutorial and found that i could fix it by changing realtek high definition audio driver to high definition audio device driver and it worked! But, i notice that my laptop's speaker now sounds terrible without the realtek driver. Is there a solution or work around for this? Because i dont want to switch driver everytime i want to use my speaker or IEM. Thanks!*by terrible that includes: lacking bass, low volume, higher pitch soun

    :)

  2. NO sound in windows 10 after update audio driver.

    Hey
    RabiulHasanCTG
, so sorry to hear about the issues you are having with Windows 10. I'll give you a few suggestions. I'll go ahead and assume that you already tried the step conorgdaly suggested below and not repeat that
step to try. I hope this helps.

How to fix No Sound on Windows 10 issue

Try this method for restoring sound:

    • Press Windows key + W and type
      troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click Hardware and Devices.
    • Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue is still unresolved, you can try another method for restoring sound:

Step 1: Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar located at the bottom right of the screen and select Playback Devices from the ensuing context menu.

Step 2: Select the current playback device in use and by default it should be the speakers. Double-click on it to open its properties window.

Step 3: Got to Advanced section and change the bit rate to either of the following - 24bit/44100 Hz or 24bit/192000Hz - depending on the speaker configuration.

If the issue is still unresolved, you can try another method for restoring sound:

Step 1: Launch Start Menu, search for Device Manager and then launch it.

Step 2: Expand Sound and audio devices.

Step 3: Right-click on the current sound driver and choose uninstall.

Step 4: Finally, click on Scan for hardware changes and the updated driver will be automatically installed.

That's it. Your computer speakers should now be able to play sound normally. If the sound is still not working, then try downloading and installing the latest sound card drivers for Windows 10 from the manufacturer's website.

Also, here is a site with good steps for troubleshooting audio.

  3. Microsoft High Definition Audio Device Driver Abruptly Stopped Working

I tried the steps you suggested, but the symptoms remain the same. I HAVE to use the Realtek driver to get any sound to my external speakers. The Microsoft High Definition Audio will get sound to my laptop's onboard speakers, but not out the line out.
The Realtek driver still has the delay at the beginning of playing any audio. I found that the the Plug and Play service was not set to automatic, so I changed it so it now does, but of possible significance is that there is no "Multimedia Class Scheduler"
on my list of services. Please advise.

  4. My laptop's speaker sounds terrible after I change the audio driver

No sound from laptop when speakers are disconnected

I have an elderly (7 years old) Dell Inspiron 17 R that I keep as a fallback laptop. I have Win 10 Pro, fully up-to date.

I recently lost sound, when no external speakers are connected. (For info related to speakers, see further down this post.)

The following are my troubleshooting steps.

    ------------------------------

    Windows Audio is running.

    External speakers are disconnected.

    In Device Manager > Sound

    Disable, then re-enable:

    - IDT High Definition Audio
    - Intel Display Audio

That did not resolve the issue.
    ------------------------------------
Download and run: Intel Driver and Support Assistant.

Message: Your Intel Drivers and software are up to date.
    -------------------------------------

Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab

    Select "Speakers/Headphones"

    Click Configure

    Click Test

    Both speakers pass

    -----------------------------------------

Sound is OK from both speakers when they are connected. But on this specific laptop, I really have no interest in any sound coming from the external speakers (or headphones). I simply want the sound from the laptop itself.

How can I restore my sound?

Footnote: I have no Realtek driver. Is that unusual? I can't remember whether the old laptop actually had a Realtek.

    Thanks.
