Windows 10: My user profile got corrupted and I am unable to sign in

I have a gaming laptop in which I double booted with windows as well as ubuntu. Its been some time since its display was gone, so I was using the laptop only via the external monitor I have, this monitor somehow has an issue with ubuntu and does not load it, so I only use windows. Every time I boot my laptop or restart it, I press enter key on my keyboard after some time in order to boot to windows from the GNU grub which is not visible in the monitor. Recently, my user profile got corrupted and I tried to follow a youtube video on how to resolve this issue, the instructions were not clear an

The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded.

Hello,

When attempting to login to my computer, I get the following message:

"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.

User profile cannot be loaded."

I referred to this Help article,You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error
message,

but the only difference is I only have one user profile on this computer. So, I can't login with another user to go through the steps listed in this post.

Any suggestions?

Corrupted User Profile

Hi,

There maybe a couple of reasons behind this misbehavior such as a corrupted system file. However, we would like to be able to verify which process exactly is corrupted.

• When you install, does it give you any form of error message when it fails?
• What other processes doesn't go through on the said User account?

As per troubleshooting, you may refer to
Likhitha V's response on this thread. See if it applies to you. However,
just to give you a heads up. The steps are about creating a new user profile and deleting the current one. I suggest you back up your files so you may be able to transfer it. You can also find information about it on the same thread.

User Profile not Signing in

May I know if you are currently signed in on this device? If yes, I will suggest you to follow the steps below:

1. Update Windows

2. Please try to run the sfc scannow to check if there's a corrupted system file. Kindly follow the steps from the link below:

Please click start menu and type cmd, right click on it and choose CMD with Admin.

Restart your device and check if the issue persists.

3. If the issue persists, I will suggest you to create a new user profile and check if you'll get the same issue there, if not, let's transfer all of your files from the old user profile to the new one.
