Windows 10: Windows 11 Recognizing headphones but not microphone

My computer's microphone stopped working, I've already tested more than 3 headphones and they didn't work, so the problem is the computer, I've tried downloading Realtek HD Audio but it didn't work, my audio driver is Synaptics HD Audio, But the microphone doesn't work anymore, someone help me.

Headphone Jack does not recognize headset microphone

Since a couple days the 3.5mm headphone jack of my computer does not recognize my headset microphone. When its plugged in the audio output works, but it says there is no microphone connected. It does recognize the headphones (audio output).

I already tried all of the following troubleshooting tips:

• The headset works on other devices (Laptop with Windows 11, PlayStation)
  
• Adjusting privacy settings.
  
• Enabling microphone in device manager (however this is not possible because it says its not connected)
  
• Reinstalling the device in control panel.
  
• Updating drives, windows etc.
  
• Other headsets also have the same problem on that port.
  

 

microphone is recognized as headphone when connected to headset 3.5mm port in the laptop

I have an ASUS k556U laptop with windows 11.

my microphone has a 3.5 mm jack when I connect it to my laptop it would be recognized as a headphone! the same is for the time when I connect my headset to laptop via headset port (for 3.5mm jack) it would be just recognized as a headphone and the microphone on the headset doesn't work!

although my laptop has an internal microphone, the quality of it is not that good so I'm willing to connect an external microphone but it doesn't work! (it used to work when I had windows 10 on my laptop)

 

Microphone being recognized as headphones

I am using a Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series 2-in-1 laptop.

I do not have Realtek HD Audio Manager. I have tried getting it, but it wouldn't run.

I plugged my 4 pin microphone into the combined headphones/mic port. The mic, however, is being recognized as "Headphones" in the sound panel, and the only microphone in the "Recording" panel is my onboard mic. What can I do to fix this?

I have also found that the other threads with a similar problem were not helpful, as replies seemed to think that the problem was that the problem involved headphones, not microphone. TO CLARIFY I mean that my computer thinks that my microphone is headphones.
It is not.
