Windows 10: I changed a name of a PC in the local Network, can't remove the old name

Discus and support I changed a name of a PC in the local Network, can't remove the old name in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; Well, truth be told, I have a little OCD.     I changed a name of a PC in the local Network, can't remove the old name


    Well, truth be told, I have a little OCD. I changed the name to this pc and that shows up respectfully. But the old name is there and I keep clicking on the old name. How do I get this defunct name off my network list in explorer. I have tried several suggestions. When I right click it does not not say, Delete, Disconnect or any such. tyRegards!

    How do I change the network adapter name? (Windows 10)

    Press Windows Key + R, type secpol.msc and press Enter to run it. In Local Security Policy window, go to the Network List Manager Policies in the left pane. Now in the right pane double click on the network name that you want to change. In the Properties windows under the Name section make sure that Name is selected. Now in the input field enter the name that you wish to use for your connection. Click Apply then OK to save the changes. And you might have to log in again or to restart your computer before the changes are applied.

    name changes??

    If you desire a name change please do the following:

    • Ask yourself if you really need a name change.
    • Make sure you have a good reason.
    • Know what you want your new name to be before you request a name change.
    • Send Urlyin a PM containing a decent explanation of your reason as well as your desired name.
