so as i said i'm having resolution issues. It's current highest setting is 1024x768 and has another lower quality setting. I don't think it is a hardware issue as all my components apparently work with 2k HD. I have hdmi 2.0 and my monitor is able to run extremely high quality as i've been using it for my Xbox series S. I have tried updating, deleting and rolling back my drivers and NOTHING. it makes my whole screen look sort of tacky and excessively large. I. AM. STUMPED. Hopefully someone can help.

    :)

  2. Do pre-built desktop PC's have built in Wi-Fi?

I have run into some confusion. I thought it was a given that all new pre-built desktop and laptop PC's would have built in Wi-Fi. However, after during some research online, some sources said some PC's come with built in Wi-Fi and some don't. So let's say
I went on Amazon and bought a new PC. I hooked it up to a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers. When I got to the setup screen where it asked to connect to Wi-Fi, would I see networks availible and be able to connect? Or would I have to use an Ethernet connection?

In short, my question is: Do modern desktop PC's have Wi-Fi integrated or not?

  3. Formatting pre built pc

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues while performing re-installation of Windows on your PC.

Since you are receiving the error inaccessible_boot_device
while performing the re-installation I would suggest you to check if the bootable media is set as the first priority to boot the PC. Follow the steps to change the boot device.

    1. Power the device off and then back on.
    2. Look for a message on the boot screen just before or after the manufacturer logo appears. You may need to press the
F1, F2, or Delete button, whatever key is indicated on the boot screen to enter
      BIOS Settings.
    1. Inside BIOS, look for a tab called
BOOT and select that page. Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, this page could be
      BOOT, ADVANCED, STARTUP, etc
    1. Once you are on the BOOT tab find the boot priority and change the boot device to USB first and second hard drive.

If you are still facing issues, you can try creating a new bootable media and check if you are able to perform the installation. Refer the article

How to create Windows 10 installation DVD/USB flash drive Step-by-Step Guide
    .

You can also try updating BIOS, as there is an update available for the motherboard model you are using. You can download the update from the

    manufacturer website
    .

Note: Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems
resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Upgrading motherboard on a Pre-Built PC

I am about to upgrade my motherboard on a Pre-Built PC that has had Windows 10 installed on it ever since I bought it. Will there be any issues with that since the PC came with a Windows 10 disc and product key on the side of the case. I have heard of
people having to buy new product keys and I was hoping I could avoid that.
