Windows 10: Microsoft authenticator and Passkeys

Hello. I have two questions about passkeys First one: I try to use Microsoft Authenticator as a part of windows system security on my android device.Now Im struggling with understanding how passkeys and microsoft auth app should work. I have passkeys tab in down right corner of my app. There is an option to scan qr code. So the desired behavior should be that when i push this dialog i will scan the qr and see my passkey in this tab. But instead of this passkey is added to the google paskeys vault instead. To be clear I have turned on microsoft auth app as a default password app in my phone set

Hello !! I want to ask something, it's not related to windows, but there isn't a more similar category.



Does the ms authenticator app support login via a passkey ?? Because it seems it doesn't.

I create a passkey on my android phone for the micosoft account, I deleted the ms authenticator app (I had a backup) and when I download again and try to sign in I couldn't do with a passkey. There wasn't an option at all.

At the end I signed in with an email and sms code, but it's strange that I couldn't with a passkey

That's bad !! I hope that the passkey login on the ms authenticator will be available in the near future, especially using a third party password manager (that supports passkeys of course).

I think adding a passkey is supported if you sign in using an Entra ID in Microsoft Authenticator - Personal accounts are not supported. Additionally, for Entra ID, the system administrator must have allowed it.
