  1. Monitor Display Issue at 240Hz Refresh Rate - Unable to View Full Screen

Dear Microsoft Support Team,I am encountering an issue with my monitor, which has a refresh rate of 240Hz. I've been using it without any problems until recently. After returning from a two-week vacation, I noticed that I can no longer see the right side of the screen, and everything appears zoomed in.Interestingly, when I lower the refresh rate to 144Hz or 120Hz, the screen returns to normal and I can see the entire display as expected.I attempted to upload screenshots to illustrate the issue, but the uploads have failed multiple times. As an alternative, here is a YouTube video that demonstr

  2. How to keep 240hz refresh rate on new monitor

This is my situation. I have a MSI Stealth GS77 gaming laptop with an HDMI 2.1 output that I have an external monitor connected to. The monitor is a 1440p Asus ROG PG279QM. The monitor has several HDMI 2.0 inputs and a DP 1.4 input. The monitor is capable of a 240hz refresh rate. Everything I have read says that a 240hz refresh rate is supported at 1440p over HDMI 2.1, but not HDMI 2.0. I currently have the monitor connected to the laptop using an HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 cable. I am currently getting the 240hz refresh rate. I was getting it the other day and updated the BIOS on the laptop and lost the refresh rate. It dropped back down to 144hz. For some reason, I am able to get the 240hz refresh rate after the computer resumes from sleep. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way for me to lock in the 240hz refresh rate so I don't lose it again in the future? Any help would be appreciated.

  3. How to keep 240hz refresh rate on new monitor

Hi Jeffrey. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

    1) The converter cable is often the weak link. It would be better to use HDMI output on PC since you have it on the monitor.

    2) The Display driver is so important that merely updating it might not be enough. Try everything here to make sure: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    3) If not then try these fixes to troubleshoot can no longer get 244 hz refresh rate from Windows 11 laptop on capable monitor:

    4) If nothing else works then I'd ask in the Asus ROG forums which will have others familiar with the monitor and issue:

Let me know if you have any questions or I can help performing any of the above steps. Based on the results you post back I will have other steps to try if necessary.

  4. Monitor Display Issue at 240Hz Refresh Rate - Unable to View Full Screen

How to keep 240hz refresh rate on new monitor

I'm currently getting the 240hz refresh rate. I had to use the converter cable because this is a 1440p monitor and 240hz at 1440p is not supported over HDMI 2.0. I'll try the ROG forums since I didn't really gain anything useful with the links you provided. Thanks for your help though.
