Content:In .NET 8, the HttpClient object keeps the response buffer in the heap without the ability to apply techniques such as the Data Protection API. This means that when integrating with EntraID which uses OAuth 2 to obtain an access token by making a POST request to the URL https://login.microsoftonline.com/{tenantId}/oauth2/v2.0/token, the HttpClient holds the access_token returned in the response body as specified in RFC 6749, Section 5.1 regarding OAuth 2 in the heap, leaving this information exposed in RAM until the garbage col

  2. Password Protecting Sensitive Data

    Hey all,

I am in need of some methods of protecting some sensitive data on both an external harddrive and my own pc. Free programs would be appreciated, but if there are paid ones that work better and more reliably, then I am fine with that too. Any recommendations?

    bitlocker data protection

    Hi JayHubb1,

    Thanks for your reply.

    So to your questions:

would the laptop direct from Lenovo have the Bitlocker data protection installed?

    • Whether BitLocker is included in Windows depends which version you are using. In the consumer market, Windows 10 Professional and Windows 10 Pro for Workstations include BitLocker, and Windows 10 Home does not. But Windows 10 Home does have Device Encryption, with which users can still protect their files. However, whether these features are installed/enabled or not also depends on the model of your computer, so I think the better way to confirm this question is to check with the manufacture.

With the Bitlocker data protection code request does that mean that there is some data left on the drive?

    • BitLocker is usually installed in the boot partition and it's loaded when the computer is booted from this partition. So the answer depends how you define "data" -- If you think the boot files on the boot partition can be called "data", then the answer is yes; if you think only personal files like documents or photos can be called "data", since the boot partition usually does not store "data", then the answer is maybe.

I hope this reply could address your question, or if there is anything unclear in my post, please feel free to let me know.

    Best regards
