Windows 10: Windows 11 Update goes to 100% then never loads.

I ran Windows 11 Installation Assistant on a windows 10 PC and after 20 minutes it jumps from 84% to 100% and on reboot It sticks on the bios screen then boots back into windows 10. I have run dism, sfc, diskcleanup, windows update troubleshooter, and checked for duplicate user profiles.

Well that's why I asked. Mine is on SSD and takes 11 seconds. Your list of games will not appear if it has not checkd for updated suggested settings for awhile until it checks.

When it says it is refreshing the game list, it is checking, because NVIDIA periodically updates suggested settings. Plus it will look for those for new games you have installed.

So, the less it is run, the slower it will be.

That would be a valid point if the inflated version numbers didn't break some plug-ins.

 

After update nothing loads or runs

• What update did you install before the issue happened?
• When you say nothing loads or runs, do you mean all your Windows applications aren't loading?

For the meantime, we suggest that you run a System File Checker to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore it as well. To do so, feel free to follow the steps below:

1. Press Windows key + X and choose Command Prompt (Admin).

2. At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press
Enter.

Note: Do not close the Command Prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. The scan results will be shown after the process is finished.
