Windows 10: Files missing when we logged on to laptop this morning

We signed into our laptop and all files are missing. Desktop icons have changed as well. There are still some things in the recycling bin. We can still get to our files by navigating to the c drive/users folder but it would help if we could just log on and see everything like we used to.

Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

Download CCcleaner from here...........

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

 

KB5039211 Some update files are missing or have problems. 0x8007000d

Hi, sorry about the delay. Ran all the suggested steps, and shut down the PC for the night.

As of this morning, I have only KB5040427 listed in the Windows Updates.

Unfortunately it failed with:

Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x8007000d).

So, the original issue appears to be resolved I think because this update is new as of Tuesday, correct? I don't see the other updates anymore.

Burning Files To cdr

I tried to drag a .txt file to the burn list, as suggested above, but it will not drop in. I get a message "+add to burn list" but I cannot get it to drop into the burn list. Is there another step I am missing?
