Windows 10: Screen glitches when entering/exiting full screen with HDR on

When watching HDR content in VLC If I try to go to full screen, the video goes black and glitches and the audio suddenly disappears or lags. Once everything goes back to normal, the video clearly drops frames. When I exit fullscreen, the screen brightness is lowered drastically and the only temporary fix is resetting the GPU driver with the key combo. I already tried to set the output module to open gl for windows and the tone mapping to reinhard non linear.I have the same issue with HDR fullscreen games, in this case Minecraft with Auto HDR:Steps of the issue: I start Minecraft, Minecraft g

Keyboard issue when entering password after exiting screen saver

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.



This issue might occur if there is change in keyboard settings.

To assist you better, please provided us the information below:

• Are you getting any error message?
• Is the issue occurring while booting to the computer?
• What is the make and model of the computer?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to check if you are able to enter the password using On-Screen keyboard and also run hardware troubleshooter to check for any change in hardware settings.



Step 1: I recommend you to try to use the On-Screen Keyboard to enter the computer.

1. At the login page.

2. Click on Ease of Access icon which is present on the bottom right corner of the screen.

3. Then select On-Screen Keyboard from the list.

4. Click on Password box and enter the password into it through On-Screen Keyboard.

Step 2: I suggest you to perform the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. Check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type “Troubleshooting” without the quotes and click on
Troubleshooting.

3. Click on View All on the left panel of the screen.

4. Click on Hardware and Devices.

5. Click on Next and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

Windows 10 HDR problems in full screen.

Hello moderator

1. Its all the games I own that don't support HDR10. Basically when I full screen on a non-HDR game, the screen goes black for a few seconds and HDR gets disabled and all the colors looked washed out (Like its in SDR)

I took 2 screenshots, One is in window mode, the other is in full screen

2. Yes SDR looks washed out. I want to play my games in full screen and in HDR. Playing in windowed mode is a nightmare

3. I know because the monitor goes black for a few seconds and all the colors look washed out (As shown in the screenshots)

Sadly the fixes did not work

I updated the GPU drivers via GeForce Experience app.

My Monitor does support 4k HDR10

I tried lower the resolution and the refresh rate but that did not work.

0:00 HDR mode is on everything looks fine (In the video, when it looks high contrast, that means HDR is on)

0:35 I full screen the game. If you notice the high contrast is no longer there, the colors are washed out

0:46 I disable full screen and HDR mode is back on

*HDR looks high contrast, Ignore that, that's just the video itself.

Im also using windows 10 64bit 1809

 

white screen after exiting game

• Did you run the World of Tanks game on the same laptop where you encountered the white screen after exiting the World of Warships?
