Windows 10: DS4 controller not getting registered as game controller.

So I recently got a new pc with windows 11 home.I am able to connect my ds4 controller via Bluetooth and it shows in the list of 'input' devices.when I try to connect with usb cable it shows up only in the list of audio devicesHowever no game, nor steam, nor joy.cpl are registering any game controller.I updated windows drivers & made sure to check for the latest drivers on the ds4 controller.I even tried ds4 windows: no game controller detected& inputmapper: does find the controller but can't map it out or anything.Help greatly appreciated!

DS4 Controller won't Pair to PC

Hi Dnz_Boi, the controller also has no issue when you connect it to a different machine?

Have also tried these steps below?

Open the previously installed app -> click on Settings.

Enable the Hide DS4 controller option.

Drag the corner of the windows and expand it -> you will see Controller/Driver Setup in blue -> click on it.

A UAC pop-up will appear asking for permission -> click Yes.

Another pop-up will appear showing you a picture of a controller -> minimize it (do not close it).

Go to Manage Bluetooth Device screen -> follow on-screen instructions (hold share and PS button for 3 seconds).

Your controller will appear in the list -> click on it and pair.

Windows 11 Pro can't detect my DS4 controller

I've upgrade my windows from windows 10 to windows 11. I find that my DS4 controller can't connect to my pc. HID Compliant Game Controller not seen in my Device Manager. Therefor my DS4 can't connect to my pc.

How can I intall or enable HID Compliant Game Controller in order to connect my DS4 controller wired via USB? My pc did'nt support bluetooth.

I checked my windows for update but there is no option for me to install or update the HID Compliant Game Controller.

I'm tired with ton of driver update software that hungry for my money. I hope Microsoft can solve this issue in no matter of time.

Thank you for the update. I understand your concern.

I would suggest you to look for the Devices settings in Control Panel and check if the game controllers are listed. If so, refer to the following steps to alter the settings and check if these are helpful in resolving your issue.

a. Right click on one of your game controllers and click Game Controller Settings. Note where in the list it is. If it is not at the top proceed to the next step.

b. Right click and remove all your other controllers (not the 360/gamepad) and let them reinstall automatically.

c. Once complete right click and check the list again and see if the 360 controller/gamepad is at the top. If so, give the game another try and see if it detects your controller.

If the issue still persists, restart your console and then try to reconnect your controller.
