    I always get the error "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_DRIVERS operation". I have tried resetting Windows Update and also installing the official iso, but nothing works.     Hi,

    I've repeatedly tried to upgrade my laptop wich is running Windows 10 22H2(OS Build 19045.2728) to Windows 11, but it keeps failing via Windows update and via Windows 11 update assistant tool .

    I've tried all of the usual solutions that people often reference - cleaning up the Software Distribution directory, running the Windows Update troubleshooter, running DISM & SFC but nothing worked out and I keep getting different error each time.

    Now the last one I got is this We couldn't install Windows 11 - error 0x80070002 - 0x20007 (screenshot attached)

    Windows 11 Install error 0x80070002-0x20007 "Installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during the INSTALL_DRIVERS operation"

    Error when trying to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 using a USB drive. Earlier attempts to upgrade directly from a download also failed with a different error message so went to USB approach as recommended by Support.

    Error Message was:

    0x80070002-0x20007

    Installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during the INSTALL_DRIVERS operation
