Older AKASA card reader stopped working when upgrading to Windows11

HiI have recently upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have an internal card reader AKASA AK-ICR-07 that worked in Windows 10. In Windows 11 i get an error message telling me the USB device is not detected. The card reader is connected to a USB 2 port on the motherboard. The interesting part here is that I can use the card reader as a boot device without issues, but once Window 11 is up an running it fails. Before upgrading the PC it worked under Windows 10.The driver chip inside the AKASA reader is a Realtek RTS5130.I looked at the usbstor.inf in the Windows/INF folder. I compared t

  2. Akasa Multi Card Reader not working under 1703 build 15063

Windows 7 reinstalled with full functionality of Akasa Card Reader restored.

Anyone know why Windows 10 1703-15063-296 should have stopped this from working.

  3. Akasa Multi Card Reader not working under 1703 build 15063

Just booted from a very early Windows 10 build 10240 & the Akasa Card Reader is detected & shown in Device Manager thus:

The USB3 socket also works under this build.

Please uSoft, why have you prevented this card reader from being detected in the latest version of Windows 10 1703-15063-296.

Akasa AK-ICR-14 stopped working after Windows 10 ugrade

I have seen similar problems on this forum, but none of the suggestions there work for me.

I've upgraded from Windows 7_64 to Windows 10. My SuperSpeed USB 3.0 device has stopped working properly. This is an internal card reader with a USB slot. I can still use USB drives, but I can't use SD/MMC etc cards.

Windows 10 Device manager sees it as a USB xHCI Compliant Host controller and won't let me replace the driver it installed with one from Akasa.

This is clearly a common problem. When are Microsoft going to fix it?

p.s. I wish Windows would stop telling me I'm not authorised to execute programs when I am the administrator.
