  2. Windows 11 Updates are underway. Please keep your computer on.

Yesterday I tried to troubleshoot a failed Windows update, I found an article on the community which suggested with a DISM command should be executed.

I ran dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, but this stopped at 62.3% and would not continue.

I exited the command prompt and ran it again, but the second time it would not even start the progress indicator.

So I wondered if a reboot was in order, attempted to restart the laptop, but the black Windows screen with Windows 11 Updates are underway. Please keep your computer on. appeared.

I left this for a couple of hours but became impatient and rebooted the laptop. This time I get a blue screen telling me that the OS drive is inaccessible.

I have spent the entire day resetting the laptop as recovery would not work. After reinstalling, all seems to be well, but when I attempt to shut down, we are now back to the Windows 11 Updates are underway. Please keep your computer on. message.

    I know it's halloween, but I'm having a nightmare!
