Windows 10: Previously purchased Minecraft Java edition, and when I just redownloaded it, I logged in...

I am wondering how to recover the minecraft that I already purchased without having to buy it again. I bought it a little bit over a year ago so it's not even like it's been a terribly long amount of time that i've had it purchased.

If you have purchased several copies of Minecraft from Mojang, then I suggest you to refer the
Mojang refunds policy and check their refund policy.



If you want to swap your editions of Minecraft that you have purchased, please
Contact Mojang Support and they will help you with this.



If you have purchased Minecraft from Microsoft Store, then I suggest you to refer
Returning items you bought from Microsoft Store for exchange or refund
and check if you can get a refund.



As you need the Java Edition of Minecraft, you can follow the steps mentioned in
How do I install Minecraft: Java Edition? and install
the Java Edition of Minecraft on your computer.



Before purchasing the Java Edition of Minecraft, I suggest you to refer the system requirements for installing the Java Edition of Minecraft from
Minecraft: Java Edition system requirements.



For reference, you may also refer the Different Minecraft Editions
to know more about the different versions of Minecraft.

If you have bought Minecraft before, you’re now getting the other edition for free. Woot! Follow these steps to redeem it:

Go to the Microsoft Store listing for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock for PC.

Sign-in to the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account.

Once you’re signed in, instead of a “Buy” button you should see a button that says “Get.” Click this button – and now you own both editions!

HOW DO I RUN OR PLAY EITHER VERSION OF MINECRAFT?

Once you’ve completed the steps above, including logging into the Microsoft Store, you can now download the Minecraft Launcher.

To play Minecraft: Java Edition, download and install the correct launcher for your operating system. Sign into the Launcher using your Microsoft account, and you will be able to run Java Edition.

Previously bought Minecraft Java Edition not available in Microsoft Store

Hi all,

there is a similar thread here, but for the Minecraft Win 10 Edition and it does not work for me:

I bought the Minecraft Java Edition on the official page. After that, I downloaded the Starter, but as soon as it starts, it is terminated with the error message, that Minecraft Launcher is not available in my Microsoft Store.

Unfortunately, I do not find the Java Edition at all in the Microsoft Online Store.

Please help here. Totally absurd...
