Windows 10: Windows Update turned my ThinkPad into a useless brick.

Last week, there was an optional update for Windows 11. I installed it, and it requested a reboot. Now, my ThinkPad will not boot. All I get is a blank screen. I can access/view the BIOS, so none of the hardware troubleshooting, including checking my brightness, has been successful.The issue is that the OS is broken, but I can't access Safe Mode or force it into Safe Mode because the files are too damaged. I need access to recovery files and run a reinstallation from USB. Please advise how I can obtain this without losing my current Windows 11 license and/or saved data. I cannot access the SS

Thinkpad T510 is bricked after entering PIN in setup

I bought it from a reputable dealer on eBay on July 6th. No history given, except the dealer formatted theHD and tested everything. The listing says No Returns. But he may be open to an exchange. LENOVO THINKPAD T510 15.6” i5 M520 2.40ghz 4GB Ram 500gb HDD DVD RW W/ Charger | eBay
Before I press for that I'm going to try the steps you've suggested further down in this thread.

 

HyperSLI (Enabling SLI on non-sli motherboards)

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

 

Lenovo Thinkpad bricked by Update

Lenovo Thinkpad 2 (SSD with bitlocker 64GB microSD) seems to be completely bricked now. Last Wednesday (10 Aug), while on holiday, presumably after the update, I got BSOD for first time ever on the unit. I presumed that the install had been corrupted by
a low battery and after many hours I managed to roll-back the update and got unit working again (and used it a couple of times briefly). Unwisely I did not defer the updates, so i suspect it downloaded itself again last night. On my way to work today, had
just opened word document, closed the lid to get on the train and WHAM - BSOD with no way back. Using Diskpart there isn't even a disc or drive visible (having removed the SD card). Great way to return to work after a holiday. Will there be a fix?????
