Windows 10: will my pc default to local account if i remove it from microsoft acount

hello, i have a local account on one of my PCs, i logged into a microsoft account on that pc and now my password doesnt work, so i guess its because its using a live account now, My question is, if i go to microsoft account, manage devices and remove the pc from that account, would it default to local account again after restart? thanks i have windows 10

Welcome to Ten Forums. This can happen if you sign in to something with your MS account, such as the Store. The place you'll find it listed is in Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts. Click on it here and you will get the option to remove it.

Is this the screenshots you need? The 'chris' account is the one that I'm trying to get rid of. And, Bree, as you see, I sadly do not have that easy 'Remove' option. It could be that it was linked via the Store, as the 'chris' account was signed in over there.

There are no other accounts shown on that page. I tried adding a new user with the same name [myname]@gmail.com but that was rejected since another user on the PC already has that name - but Control Panel / User Accounts only shows two local accounts.
