My latest windows11 update shows this message. "Updated 10/08/24---END OF SERVICE NOTICE--- IMPORTANT Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2 are at end of service today, October 8, 2024. They will no longer receive any updates. To continue receiving security and non-security updates after October 8, 2024, we recommend that you update to the latest version of Windows." How do I update to the latest version? Thank you.

End of supplemental servicing for Windows 10 version 1511

Today’s post comes from John Wilcox, Principal Program Manager for Windows Servicing and Delivery, and provides clarity around supplemental servicing for Windows 10, version 1511 and how to move forward with Windows as a service.

Many customers have reported that supplemental servicing for Windows 10, version 1511 has been just what they needed to adopt Windows as a service and update to newer, supported versions of Windows 10. If you are still in the process of updating to a current version of Windows 10, mark April 10, 2018 on your calendar—that will be the last day for supplemental servicing for Windows 10, version 1511 and the last day for general servicing for Windows 10, version 1607.

Announced earlier this month, additional servicing for both Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10, versions 1607 will be available starting in May 2018 for a duration of 6 months at no cost. As with the supplemental servicing offer for Windows 10, version 1511, this additional no-cost servicing for Windows 10, version 1607:

Includes Critical and Important security updates as defined by the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) security update severity rating system.

Is a continuance of the Windows 10 Cumulative Updates.

Is provided through all normal channels.

Is applicable only to devices and virtual machines running Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 10.

Does not require additional action from customers for eligible devices.

Volume License customers who need more than the additional six months of no-cost servicing beyond April 10, 2018 can alternatively secure 12 months of additional servicing (starting from April 10, 2018) with paid supplemental servicing and should contact their account team for more information.

Reminder: End of servicing for Windows 10 version 21H1 on December 13

On December 13, 2022, all editions of Windows 10, version 21H1 will reach end of servicing. The December 2022 security update, to be released on December 13, is the last update available for this version. After that date, devices running this version will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates containing protections from the latest security threats. This article serves as a reminder of this upcoming change and as a guide to help you with the next steps. Staying protected and productive To help keep devices protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for devices running Home and Pro (non-domain joined) editions of Windows 10, version 21H1 that are reaching end of servicing. This keeps devices supported and receiving monthly updates that are critical to security and ecosystem health. Remember that you and your users can choose a convenient time for devices to restart and complete the update while remaining productive. We will automatically update devices nearing end of servicing to the latest version of Windows 10, but you can opt to upgrade eligible devices to Windows 11. Upgrading to Windows 11 Windows 11, version 22H2 – also known as the Windows 11 2022 Update – is available to you on eligible Windows devices. Just check for updates as explained on the Update Windows support page. Please note, if we detect that your devices might have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we might put a safeguard hold in place and not offer the update until that issue is resolved. Find information regarding safeguard holds on the Windows 11, version 22H2 known issues and notifications page, which is part of the Windows release health experience. If you are interested in experiencing the latest feature update, follow three easy steps:

Open Windows Update Settings.

Select Check for updates.

Click the option to Download and install. Note: You’ll only see this option if your device is ready.

If you are using Windows 10, you can check if your device is eligible for the upgrade to Windows 11 by using the PC Health Check app or checking Windows 11 specs, features, and computer requirements. OS Build version 1809 end of service

Hello, I am currently using OS Build version 1809 and am worried about this build nearing the end of its service next month. I am physically disabled and require the microphone to control the use of my laptop with voice dictation software. When I install
the new feature update and upgrade to OS Build version 1909, the microphone no longer works properly (Realtek (R) audio instead of Realtek audio) and is extremely distorted. Therefore, I can no longer use my microphone to control my laptop.

I have read multiple support threads here and have tried every possible suggested solution (upgrading the audio driver, uninstalling the driver, reinstalling Realtek) and nothing works. My only saving grace has been reverting back to the previous build,
but since OS Build version 1809 is nearing the end of its service, I am at a loss of what to do.

Without my microphone working properly, I cannot use my laptop because of my physical disability, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could please help me find a viable solution. If it is possible, my top solution would be to extend the end of service
deadline for the OS Build version 1809 or to allow me to keep using this build until a solution can be found. Thank you for your support.
