Background music/sounds are working, but there is no VOICES/audible speeches?

I appreciate you for performing troubleshooting steps to fix the issue from your end.

I realize that you are experiencing issue in listening to voices and audible speeches on Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

This issue might occur, if there is problem with Audio Hardware Socket.

Please follow below mentioned methods to fix the issue:

Method 2: Troubleshooting Audio Driver.

1. Press “Windows key + X” from your keyboard.

2. Select on “Control Panel” option.

3. Change to “Larges” under “View all”, you see at right top corner of the window.

4. Click on “Troubleshooting” and “View all” option, you see at left pane of the windows.

5. Select and right click on “Playing Audio” option from the list and click on
“Run as Administrator”. (Enter password, if it prompts).

New Voice Mail Audible Sound Notification

When using Windows Phone 8 I disabled the audible notification for new voice mails. Now on Windows 8.1 Preview, I can't find where to turn the audible notification back on. I have a Nokia 920 phone.

Finally figured this out!

On the Settings>Notification+Actions page, select Messaging. On that screen, the box Notifications sound is what needs to be set.

Selecting Default for some reason doesn't generate any audible tone when a voice message is left.

Changing it to one of the available ringtones does enable audible notification when a voice mail is left.

(Ringtones for calls and SMS texts continue to be set on the Ringtones+Sounds settings page or individually for specific contacts. Does not seem to be any way to use different audible voice message notifications for specific contacts as is available for
calls and SMS texts.)

Perhaps the verbiage on this page should be updated to make it clear this is where the voice mail notification sound is set. The Help and Tips app also does not give any explanation.
