I recently got an asus creator Q540 laptop, after turning it on and loading the windows 11 that comes with it everything seems to work fine, the photos app preview pictures with original display quality but after the necessary update then my photos app would begin to preview washed out images, the color quality drastically reduces which I’m still finding it hard to understand. But after downloading a third party photo preview software, the software worked perfectly well. Even my photoshop, capture one and photo mechanic softwares are unable to provide original display quality, And I’m also una

Windows 10 update to Creators Update problems on ASUS laptop

I have an Asus laptop - KV55V

A few days ago the windows 10 auto updates (to creators update i think) resulted in me losing my keyboard and touchpad.

panic ensued...then googled...tried several suggestions.

none worked.

tried to go back to a restore point, but that failed because of a microsoft bug.

panic again....but google is my friend so eventually found a way to execute the recovery.

so got my laptop to a working state again. only took 2 days.lol.

then updated some ASUS mouse drivers and ATK package and as far as i can tell i have updated windows up to KB4015217.

the reason I mention all this is because it mat be related to my current problem:

my problem is when i try to do windows update it fails with the message

"Windows 10 Creators Update Privacy Settings for x64-based Systems (KB4013214) - Error 0x80070643"

but when i look at update history it says

"Windows 10 Creators Update Privacy Settings for x64-based Systems (KB4013214)

succesfully installed 13/4/201"

so it appears to me that windows is confused. has kb4013214 been applied or not??

and what steps do i need to take to get past the error message so i can get the creators update.

Not sure about the games you listed but no probs with Dirt Rally and benching heavensward-bench here for me. I'm going to test 3DMark too in a few minutes.

I'm not sure where the newer version came from as Asus doesn't list that version for your laptop....maybe Windows update did it and often windows update is wrong.
