Windows 10: My audio driver is showing signs of error [Intel Smart Sound Technology]

Recently after booting up the audio driver seems to be working abruptly [shows fw did not send fw ready notification] and was not able to process any kind of sound input, after browsing the internet for a while and searching for solution I tried reinstalling the driver right after, but it was of no use and the problem persisted, I tried updating the driver but it kept on showing errors upon installation [code 10 apparently] and nothing happens. Can you guide me with what is actually wrong with my device [it's an acer aspire 5 series laptop ].

Resolution

Open Device manager

In System devices > Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller

Right click and select Update driver

Select Browse my computer for driver software

Select let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

Select High Definition Audio controller and install.

 

Intel smart sound technology OED driver error

Hi,

I have a HP Elitebook 830 G6 and the sound doesn't work. Has a red X over it in the taskbar. I've tried the troubleshooter but it doesn't resolve the problem.

When I go into the device manager the driver: Intel smart sound technology OED has a yellow exclamation sign on it.

Also there are no audio drivers at all.

I've tried updating the Intel OED driver, removing the driver, disabling the driver but it always remains with the exclamation sign. I cant roll it back as that option is greyed out.

I've tried using the Intel driver and support assistant but it doesn't make any difference. Same for the HP Support tool.

I've tried downloading and installing the Realtek audio driver direct from the HP website but it simply wont install. Run the setup and nothing happens.

I've tried Windows Update and nothing works.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) Audio Controller Issue

I'm having issue with the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) Audio Controller on Aspire VN7-792G.

I'm on Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.164).

The Device Manager shows I have the latest driver but troubleshooting has shown 'Audio services not responding' and the issue is not fixed.

I've tried Intel Driver Update Utility 2.4 but no drivers showed up after scanning.
