Windows 10: Constant static coming through my headphones even when sound is not happening

I don't remember when this began but it has been a problem for a while, and i initially thought it was an input issue with the headset I was using, so I just bought a new headset and I can still hear the constant static. It happens even when audio isn't playing and is mostly constant, with occasional stopping and then resuming. I've turned off all of the audio devices in device manager to see if something was specifically causing the problem but the static remained constant. I've looked at many other solutions/videos regarding the matter but none seem to help. If somebody could help me at all,

Thank you for the reply. Yes wiggling the jack does make the sound go away, but when that happens then audio sounds like absolute crap coming through the headphones, so it fixes something and ruins something else. Also it is not a USB headset, I am just
a computer noob so i don't know what to call stuff lol. I will try some of the solutions you listed tomorrow, thank you.

 

Intermittent sound from headphones, constant static noise, HELP D:


Hey guys

I have Realtek Audio HD driver for sound installed on windows 10. For about a week, my laptop ran with no problems. However, last night there was no sound output into my headphones. I unplugged my headphones, plugged them in again. Still no sound.

I tried my headphones on different computers and phones and sound worked normally. I then tried a different pair of headphones on my laptop and no sound was coming out. The speaker is still functioning normally.

I have since restarted my laptop multiple times, and each time I restart a message saying that "You have changed your settings in BIOS setup. Would you like to restart your computer to apply these changes?"pops up.

Sometimes, my headphones somehow come to life, and sound is able to be played. However, when this occurs there is a lot of background static noise, although the sound quality itself is very good.

Could anyone help me out? :S

Odd repetitive static coming out headphones after auto-update

Hi, I've had an automatic update this morning, and now I've got a loud static sound coming out my headphones; this happens approximately once every 0.8 seconds. Naturally it's impossible to listen to music or anything else while this is happening.

Headphones: Sennheiser 598 closed back
Amp: FiiO E10K

>Do I have speakers or other sound devices?
No
>Have I unplugged from the amp & straight into pc audio port?
Yes. No sound. I set the default sound device in device manager, and still nothing.
>Do I get sound/music from the amp?
Yes. However, the loud static is still there.
>Driver updated?
Yes, already had the latest.
>Driver rollback?
Nothing to roll back to.
