  1. Multiple Desktop and opening files issue i.e. jumping back to initial window

In Windows 11, when using multiple desktops, how can I prevent Word, Excel, PDF, or other files from jumping back to the initial desktop where they were first opened? It's frustrating that they keep returning to the original window, even when I select 'Show this window on all desktops.' I have to move the file back to the desktop I was working on. How can I stop this from happening?I know this question have been raised for before, still , there is no solution, is it?

    :)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern on Microsoft Answer Community.

Basically, cursor jumping can happen due to multiple issue and on multiple app. We need few information regarding the issue.

    • What is the Email client/app where the cursor jumping occurred?
    • Did you face this issue on any other apps?
    • Since when are you facing this issue?

However, let us also try few steps and see if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your devices. Refer these steps:

    1. Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
    2. Change the view by option on the top right to
      Large icons.
    3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the
view all option on the left panel.
    4. Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
If the issue persist follow method 2 and check if it helps.

Method 2: I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the mouse driver from device manager and check.

    1. Press Windows and X keys together
    2. Click on Device Manager.
    3. Select Mice and other pointing devices from the list.
    4. Uninstall by right clicking on the driver.
    5. Restart the system, the driver will be automatically installed.

    Hope it helps.
