  1. Can I disable core isolation for a single application?

Since I changed from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the GT Arcade Android emulator no longer allows me to use it. I get an error message related to the virtualization machine. The emulator gives me a tool to do a "repair" which once done asks me to restart my system, even doing so the problem persists. I looked for another emulator Nox player and Memu, both have the same problem, investigating I found that this happens due to a core isolation function that Windows 11 has which provides an extra layer of security for a system. By disabling this function the problem disappears completely and I can

core isolation disabled itself in bios on new computer

    Hello Khynnea,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

It can be the BIOS update released by your manufacturer through windows updates which might have changed the status from Enabled to disabled. However here are the steps to enable it again.

    • Open start menu and search for Windows Defender Security Center.
    • Go to Device Security.
    • You will be able to find Core Isolation, please click on Core Isolation details.
    • Then you can turn it on.

Restart is restart is required for the changes to be effective. Please write back, if you need any further assistance.

    Hope it helps.

  4. Can I disable core isolation for a single application?

How to disable Core Isolation on a Surface Book 3?

    Good day everyone,

I' trying to run Nox Player (Noxplayer – Fastest and Smoothest Android Emulator for PC & Mac – Free and Safe) on a new Surface Book 3, but Windows keep telling me it's not compatible. Following Nox's how-to guide, they say to disable Core
Isolation, but according to Windows that setting is managed by the system administrator, when the Surface Book 3 is my own machine, with only one account on it, and of course with admin privileges.

I've tried a common gpedit.msc "trick" of changing a setting and then changing it back, but the Core Protection setting is always out of reach.

Are there special steps I need to take to disable Core Isolation on a Surface Book 3?
