User Account Control: Enable Admin Approval Mode is set to "Enabled" after every reboot.

I don't know which software/configuration is causing this, but currently, after every reboot of my system, the "User Account Control: Enable Admin Approval Mode" option is set to "Enabled". The default for Windows should be "Disabled", so when I change it to "Disabled", it reverts to "Enabled" after restarting the computer. I need help!

User Account Control and Admin Approval mode

In GPedit I set User Account Control: Run all administrators in Admin Approval mode to Disable, but that can be change by the User Account Control slider in the User Account Control Settings, how do I disable the slider function or make make the Approval
    mode read only.

It could also be EnableLUA set to 0, as read only

    Any idears?

User Account Control and Admin Approval mode

    Thanks for the replay.

I'm not sure I have explained my problem correctly

I have a built in Com X card running som Sw that demands Admin privilegies to start up.

by setting, Run all administrators in Admin Approval mode to Disable, the Sw can starup with out user doing anything.

But i the customer access the build in PC by remote desktop the customer can change User Account Control Settings in the user control.

That possibility I would like to disable.

As I understand it that is not done by the suggestion, or do I miss understand

Cannot enable Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account

    Hi, Samuel_1071

    Welcome to the MicroSoft Community.

If you are unable to enable "User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account" in order to allow OneDrive context menus, you may need to use an alternative method to address the issue. Here are some steps you can take:

1.Create a Standard User Account: Instead of using the built-in administrator account, create and use a standard user account for your daily activities.

Here's how to create a local account: Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support

Use OneDrive: Install and set up OneDrive while logged into the standard user account. You should be able to use the OneDrive context menus without needing to modify the UAC settings.

    2.Run OneDrive as Administrator:

    • Right-click on the OneDrive executable or shortcut.
    • Select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
    • When prompted by UAC, click "Yes" to allow the program to make changes to your computer.
    3.Adjust Individual Files and Folders:

If the issue with OneDrive context menus is specific to certain files or folders, you can manually adjust the permissions for those items. Here's how:

    • Right-click on the file or folder you want to adjust.
    • Select "Properties" from the context menu.
    • In the Properties window, go to the "Security" tab and adjust the permissions as needed.

It's important to note that modifying UAC settings can impact the security and stability of your system. Therefore, it's generally recommended to explore alternative solutions before making significant changes to these settings.

If you encounter any specific error messages or have additional details about the issue, please feel free to share them so I can provide more targeted assistance.

    Best Regards
