Windows 10: can dvd+rw discs be used to burn discs

I had a problem saving downloads to disc because I did not have rewritable discs. Can DVD+rw discs be used or do I have to get cd+rw discs?

PATA DVD Drives do not burn RW or RAM discs

I have a weird issue with all my drives.
I have:-
Lite-On 20x DVD RW
ASUS 16x DVD RW
LG 16x DVD RW

All recognized as RAM drives but none of them burn on to DVD RW or DVD RAM properly.

Would this be to do with the discs or the drives themselves.

I have been using Sony DVD-RW discs and DVD-RAM discs to no avail.

 

Why can't I burn a disc image to a DVD-RW?

The error was "There is no
disc in your disc burner. Insert a blank recordable disc, and then try again." Why do I have to use a DVD-Recordable? It cannot
be erased. When I don't want the current disc image and want to burn a new disc image, I have to use another DVD-Recordable? That's a waste of discs having to get more and more discs to burn new disc images. With a DVD-RW, I could erase the old disc image
to put a new one in. Then, I could use the DVD over and over again instead of wasting discs by having to get new ones all the time. Don't you think? Any way I could communicate that better?

 

DVD+RW Discs Not Currently Recognized

If you have burned data to a DVD/RW or CD/RW you must Finalize the disc before Ejecting it or it will not be able to be read on another computer. CD/DVD-RW drives are finicky on which discs brands they like to use. -/R or -/ RW disc brane, and the same brand +/R or +/RW will not be recognized. Once you find a brand that works, it's best to stick with that brand. What is the Make and Model# of the DVDRW drive? You can search for a Firmware Update for the drive which will allow you to use different brands of discs. Also, if no blank media is working, then the Recording Laser inside the drive may have failed. You can read discs but you can't burn to blanks.
