Windows 10: File Explorer Pictures Album and Contents Erased as if I Never Created It

Yesterday I spent several hours downloading photos from my Google Photos account into an album that I created through File Explorer Pictures. The album was there, renamed, and working as intended for several hours. I have been doing this for years so I am very familiar with the process. Suddenly, the album and its contents disappeared. Things I have already checked: It is not accidentally hidden. It is not in the recycle bin. It was not accidentally moved to another location or album. There is no record in my download file or my gallery of any of the photos ever having been acquired. It's like

1) Where have you saved the photo album in PC? Have you saved in local drive?

2) Did you check in Recycle bin?

As a workaround, Try to create a new folder and create a photo album and then save it on desktop or pictures folder in this PC.

If the issue persists, then try to create a new local account and check the issue in that account.

I suggest you to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
• Select Add an Account.
• Enter a user name and hit Next.
• Click on Finish.
• Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
• Check if issue persists.

• What is the exact location of the photograph file in file explorer?
• What exactly you want to know about file explorer share feature?

Generally when you right click on the picture you will see share with.
Add to shared album > new shared album/list of existing album name

Tiny pictures in file explorer

I'm curious where the Microsoft document is that tells you what Explorer was "intended" for.

It's stated what it is, in its name! FILE Explorer. It's a file manager.

And having to create an album simply to be able to sort our photos is just ridiculous.

How would you suggest pictures/photos should be organised apart from a library/album? Like I previously mentioned, please provide suggestions through the feedback application that comes with Windows 10. It's called 'Feedback Hub'.

I guess to keep things neat we then have to delete the album or we end up with albums every time we want to move some photos around.

No, albums are a way of organising your photos. They don't move/delete/rename the files at all, however you can copy the files from an album into another location. This is what the original poster was looking for. Think of it like a music playlist. You can
create a playlist of your music based on genre, albums, artists, year ... basically however you like. The photos application allows you to do the same with pictures and even provides the ability to share out those albums through the cloud. Seems to me like
you are just reluctant to embrace change.
