Windows 10: New motherboard, Windows 10 Pro to 11 Home

I am helping my friend upgrade their computer. Currently Windows 11 does not support their CPU so they are getting a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM.Unfortunately they also have a Windows 10 Pro OEM license so they will need to do a clean install of Windows using a newly purchased key.There is no reason for them to continue to use the Pro license and the upgrade is already expensive so they would like to upgrade to Windows 11 Home to save the $60.Will this cause any additional hiccups in the process or will a clean install cover it all?

Can i move a sata ssd with windows 11 pro to a new motherboard that says it has windows 10 on the motherboard description?

I currently have a 256gb sata ssd with windows 11 pro (boost drive), 1tb hdd with files that i can put in a usb and a m.2 ssd with games. I currently have a new motherboard coming and it says it has windows 10 on the motherboard description and i was wondering if me putting my windows 11 pro boot drive into this motherboard will break something and i am confused what to do, if there is certain steps i need to do to wipe the drive to be able to put it in the motherboard i can do it (i already have all my important files on a usb stick). Thankyou

 

Windows 11 Pro Upgrade from Windows 10 Pro Edition

No but after it installed the malfunctioning Windows 11 upgrade it was listed as Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft Windows support advised I reinstall Windows 10 Pro and said that Windows 11 is really only meant for new PC's that come with it preinstalled. MSI website doesn't list my 2020 GT76 Titan dt-039 notebook on their Windows 11 upgrade eligibility list so I guess that's why the Windows 11 Pro upgrade failed. I suggest being careful with trying the Windows 11 upgrade despite it stating my notebook was capable of running Windows 11 it was wrong. Luckily I have the original Windows 10 Pro USB Flash drive because the Windows 11 Pro upgrade was so incomplete I had no way of reverting notebook back to Windows 10 without reinstalling from a USB Flash.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
