Windows 10: How to split install.Wim into smaller pieces on a usb without administrator

Hi. I am trying to reinstall windows on another laptop and I got another laptop to work on but the problem this laptop is limited access and I need to split install.Wim into smaller parts and your help would be appreciated

It sounds like you are currently having a problem that receiving erros while spliting the .wim file.Sorry for the inconvenience.

As for your problem, you can try the following steps to fix the system file to see if they can solve your problem:



Type CMD in the search box,select the "Command Prompt" and "Run as administrator".Type the following commands in sequence and press Enter：

Then restart the computer.

How to split a large html files into multiple pieces?

You can use 7zip. When zipping the html file you can split it into 10 MB (smallest) pieces. But the result will be zip file "parts". You won't be able to access those parts individually.

What to you want to do with the pieces?

 

After Re-downloading ISO, Re-making USB drive, Re-"Inatalling"

To split install.wim - Make a folder - Move install.wim to it - Make a Split.cmd with the code Code:

- Run the Split.cmd Move the install.swm and install2.swm to \sources (don't move Install,wim) To make a Win 10 USB Legacy and UEFI boot able drive. Open a CMD window as administrator and type: diskpart list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the USB drive number) select disk n (replace n by the USB drive number obtained with list disk) clean convert mbr create part primary select part 1 format fs=fat32 quick assign active exit (to exit diskpart) Copy all files and folders to the USB drive. It will boot as Legacy or UEFI Again, I suggest you build the USB Win 10 22h2 installation drive using MCT
