Windows 10: Bitlocker decryption completely freezes pc

Hey, I’ve ran into multiple issues with my pc recently which made me completely reinstall windows 11. Now the issues continued and trying to boot into safe mode I realized that bitlocker was turned on for whatever reason. I attempted to turn of bitlocker and everything seemed fine until my system completely froze aside from one command prompt window where the cursor is blinking. I cannot type or move the window, or any other window. I cannot right click or press ctrl alt delete. I can not safely put my pc into hibernation or shut it down. My mouse still works. I also don’t have a window displ

@rinconmike For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'. Another option is to use software.

Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

As a BitLocker user myself, I can definitively say it has zero issues with SSD's. Nor has Microsoft listed any SSD drive issues. Also be aware BitLocker decryption is not an instantaneous process and can take anywhere between 20 minutes to a few hours depending on data and size of drive.

That said, drive decryption does not prevent normal use of drive.

 

BitLocker Decryption Taking forever to complete.

Hi,

I recently deleted my Ubuntu partition and added it to my Windows C drive (which is BitLocked). I'm now trying to decrypt the and it is taking forever to complete.

Of note, the drive is about 400GB.

I've waited for about 12 hours and it is still decrypting.

May I know when to expect the completion of the process. I have assignments to complete using the Laptop.

Please help
