Windows 10: Steam unable to launch properly, Windows 11 Home

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D64GB RamMSI Mag X570s Tomahawk Max WifiMSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2XWindows 11 Home x64 24H2, OS build 26100.2161Recently on my Win11 desktop, Steam launches then 'Checks for available updates', then ... nothing. It doesn't show up. In other words, the Steam app launches from a shortcut, starts a process in Task Manager but does not launch a GUI to use, and is not showing up in the taskbar.Steam.exe exists under "Task Manager --> Processes" but I can't open apps or games. Need to kill the process tree in Task Manager to end it. I have tried the following things with no

Steam Unable to Launch Properly Windows 11

Need some troubleshooting help. As shown by the title, for the last 3 weeks or so my Steam has been unable to launch (it shows update and verification, and shows running in Task Manager but never actually opens), I've had no problem for the last 2 years with this laptop and it seemingly happened out of the blue.

For reference, my system information;

Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics, 3201 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

System SKU LENOVO_MT_82JW_BU_idea_FM_Legion 5 15ACH6

Here below are a following of fixes I've tried to no avail

-Run Steam in Admin

-Run Steam in combat. mode

-Steam UI Overlay Fix

-Complete Steam Deletion and Re-install (Same Location, and then on seperate SSD)

-Contacted Steam support, uploaded crash logs, Steam support said it may be driver lack of update issue; no updates could be done so I instead did a full driver reinstall (Nvidia).

-Done the DMIS Cleanup/System Health/Repair

Thank you for your quick and detailed response.

I followed your steps outline under 1; and still was unable to load Steam past the background process.

In regards to step 2, I followed the steps exactly, until "echo S | chkdsk c: /f /x /r" this command line where I was hit with a "Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in the use by another process" 3 times, in which I couldn't respond with a y/n.

I proceeded to go to my computer management and manually scan for drive errors in my C: Drive and D: SSD Drive, and found no errors.

Upon shutdown, my issue is still unresolved, as well as upon restart.

• Do you get any error message/code when you try to launch the game?

If the Steam games are not working in Windows 10 then, I would suggest you to contact the Games manufacturer for further assistance and check if the Game is compatible with Windows 10.
