    Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130

    Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

    1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
    2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.
In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Windows 11 Random Blue Screen Crash, May be Associated with Freezing

    Hello,

Please find following additional Minidump files.

    Can you please provide feedback?

Is an option to continue use of the computer with Driver Verifier operational?

    I provide some background below.

The computer was apparently relatively freeze free during the Driver Verifier testing.

I used the computer ~ 24/7, and anecdotally did not observe the freezing.

The few crashes that occurred were anecdotally: fewer then previous, and unrelated to freezing.

I realised that I had paused Windows updates around the time that I initiated Driver Verifier testing, so I resumed Windows updates, though the crashes continued to occur, and the freezes did not return.

I anecdotally observe that Windows Media Center is “glitchier”. E.g. The programme stops working, and requires the USB tuner/programme to be restarted to use, more since the Driver Verifier testing.

I literally guess the following may be explanation options:

    1. The: crash, and freezing; are unrelated,
    2. The Driver Verifier “masks” the freezing symptoms – hence my earlier request to continue in use, or
    3. The freezing is “random”, and I experienced a random duration of relatively stable performance while completing the Driver Verifier testing, though the crashes etc may return if the randomness returns.

    Thanks and regards.

Random Freeze and crash after Bootting Win 11

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
