Windows 10: Why does Windows Explorer Freeze or Not Respond when using External HDD Windows 11

I use an external hard drive for my work, as I work off site and multiple locations, and starting yesterday whenever I insert my external hard drive into a PC and select a file to open, it causes the Windows Explorer to freeze or crash, not respond etc. The only way out of the loop is to pull the power to shut it down hard as even CTRL-ALT-DEL/Task Manager doesn't work when this happens. After the computer is restarted it works just fine, but I cannot open files on my hard drive. I can see them all just fine, just not open them without getting caught in this terrible freezing loop. HELP!!

Windows Explorer crashes whenever I open my external HDD or thumb drive in explorer..

So, I open up My Computer, open my F Drive and boom: "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and must close". It is really annoying! I am fine everywhere else in explorer, but something just screws up when I try the external HDD (USB) or my thumb drive.

Can anyone help?

Since version 7 of the world`s most popular web browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer was silently renamed to Windows Internet Explorer.Such a step from Microsoft is not a surprise since Internet Explorer is part of the Windows operation system for a long time.Obviously Microsoft corp. wants to state that Internet Explorer is already considered as a part of Windows and not as an external browser (remember the IE and WMP law issues last year!?).
