Windows 10: Why is my cursor so large and icons out of place when I restart my computer?

I recently successfully updated my computer to Windows 11, version 24H2 after my computer repeatedly failed to update and install for multiple days. Whenever I turn on my computer my cursor is very large and my icons are not in the order that I usually have them in. Usually, I would restart my computer and everything would go back into order but recently this solution has ceased to work. How can I fix this issue on my new HP Spectre x360 2-in-1?

Files & Folders View as medium or large Icons

To assist you better, we would suggest that you try to follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Once you are viewing a folder, right click an empty space within the File Explorer window and select View from the dialogue menu, then choose Large or any icon you wanted to use. Alternatively, you can use the following shortcut keys on the keyboard to
  change your View settings:

• CTRL + SHIFT + 1 Extra Large
• CTRL + SHIFT + 2 Large icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 3 Medium Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 4 Small Icons
• CTRL + SHIFT + 5 List
• CTRL + SHIFT + 6 Details
• CTRL + SHIFT + 7 Tiles
• CTRL + SHIFT + 8 Content

3. Once you have the view set, you can make it the default view for

every folder.

4. Click Apply, then click OK.

Cant place icons on certain places on dekstop

To do that, go to Settings > Update & Security
> Check for Updates.

We also recommend changing the desktop icon settings. To access it, follow these steps:

  Click Start.

  Type Themes and press Enter.
  
• 
  Click Change desktop icons.
  
• 
  Uncheck Allow themes to change desktop icons.
  
• 
  Click Apply.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  

After installing the latest updates and changing the desktop icon settings, check if you can place icons on the left side of your screen.

  Right Click on desktop screen.

  Place the cursor on View.

  In drop down menu, select auto align and check.
