Windows 10: Notifications on WhatsApp for desktop do not display the sender's profile picture

Previously, on my PC, when there was a notification, it showed the sender's profile picture, but I installed Windows 24H2 with the latest updates and when installing the WhatsApp application, the notifications do not show the sender's profile picture, it seems like a bug to me because other applications do not exhibit this behavior, does anyone else have this problem?

Alright, so I recently downloaded Whatsapp Desktop from the Microsoft store, for the purpose of being able to see my message notifications on my laptop too.

What I noticed, was that I wasn't getting any notifications at all. I checked the settings within the app, and notifications were enabled. I figured I would have to go to the Windows Settings itself, so I did.

This is where I went.

Settings > System > Notifications & actions

My "Get notifications from apps and other senders" is enabled.

I scroll down, and I don't see the Whatsapp Desktop app.

Without being able to see it in the list, I can't enable the notifications. What should I do?

I understand your query related to notifications for WhatsApp Desktop app on your PC.



One of the things that you can try is to change the privacy settings for the notifications of the apps.

1. Press Windows + I keys together to open
   Settings.
   
2. Now click on Privacy and select
   Notifications.
   
3. Under Allow apps to access your Notifications toggle the switch to
   On.
   
4. Toggle the switch for
   WhatsApp Desktop app to On under Choose which apps can access your notifications.

"GET NOTIFICATIONS FROM THESE SENDERS"

Under Settings>System>Notifications & Actions>Get Notifications From These Senders there follows a list of native apps and desktop apps. How is it determined which apps appear on this list? I have two Win 10 PC's with the exact same version and pretty
much configured the same way;connected by OneDrive. However, on one of them "Google Chrome" appears but not the other. Is there a way for the User (me) to add apps to this list?
