Windows 10: Trying to scan slides on Epson V300 photo -- image is loaded slide tray, not slide image.

Trying to scan slides on Epson V300 Photo. Only shows loaded slide tray, not the image.

Unable to use slide show or move photos on.


Navigate to the problematic folder
Change the view to Medium icons

Do all images show a thumbnail?
If they show the icon for the program, you'll need to de-select the view setting Always show icons, never thumbnails

You can also try scrolling though the images using Preview (Windows Photo Viewer)

Select the first image file
Right click - select Preview
(you might have to Open With > Windows Photo Viewer)

The above only helps determine if there is a file that won't properly display

If everything displays properly, then try copying a few images to a new folder and test Slide show on the test folder
Continue copying image files, a few at a time (10-20), and test Slide show on the test folder
If / when Slide show stops working, you know that the last group copied is causing the issue.

The question is: Are thre too many images for Slide Show to handle or is one of the images causing the issue.
Easy enough to answer, remove that last group of images that you copied, then copy the next set of images to the test folder
If Slideshow fails, it's probably too many files.
If Slideshow works, it was one of the images.

 

Photos app - unable to slide through images in a folder

After updating to Windows 11, I'm having a lot of problems with the Photos App. If I upload a new folder full of images, it will only open the one that I click. On some of the other folders in pictures which have been there for a while, it will allow me to slide through and show the thumbnails.

The photos are in the Pictures folder which is on Onedrive and I have clicked the option to make it all available offline (so it stays locally on my computer). I've tried resetting the Photos app, but to no avail.

When I can slide through the images, the next image loads up with a little blur. I have 32GB ram on i9 processor with nvidia graphics so I can't understand why it would do that?

Any light shed on this problem is greatly appreciated.

Thanks- would be interested to know if the quality was ok.. I bought an Epson perfection scanner (which has the mounts for scanning photos and slides) but have yet to get round to really using it. Lots to do... or maybe not!

I tried a smaller device before that, but it wasn't up to it.
