Windows 10: OneDrive downloads folder special icon not displaying

In file explorer, the icon of the OneDrive downloads folder is not showing its "special" icon the blue down arrow, even though all of the other folders are showing theirs correctly.This is what should look like this is the system library folder for downloads:My version is Version 24H2 0S Build 26100.2033, and there are no available system updates.

Thank you for replying.

I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
again and check. Here is the steps:

• 
  Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.
  
  
  
  (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
  OneDrive icon.)
  
• 
  Click Settings, and then click Unlink.
  
• 
  Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.

Onedrive icons not displaying properly!


I have a very weird issue where the folder and file symbols associated with onedrive (sync, OK or ERROR symbols) are not displayed when navigating the onedrive folder on my PC. All the files and folders only display the sync symbol while the onedrive app in the taskbar shows that there are no files syncing.
The issue become even weirder when i manually navigate to my onedrive folder on my E drive --> E:\onedrive\. Here all the icons ARE displayed correctly. As seen in the image below, the only difference between the folders is the path, where one is directly linked as the onedrive folder, while the other is the actual path on my harddrive. Similarly, the library access in the sidebar also displays the symbol issue.



I've already been able to resolve the issue abit, seeing as previously my onedrive was constantly syncing unknown files and would never display the symbols correctly, however I'm now comletely stuck with this issue after forcing a full reinstall of onedrive and completely resyncing all my files.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to resolve this issue?

Thanks a lot for the reply, tracit99! You were absolutely right about everything, though something a little strange has happened. Despite my desktop.ini seemed to be corrupt, I have fixed it by copying it and then replacing it with it's copy!

I'll mark the post as solved and then post a step-by-step guide for the ones who need it.
