Windows 10: Disable MFA requirement in Microsoft 365 for specific users

We would require a specific user or a migration process to have MFA disabled. Although it’s not suggested due to security reasons, we might be forced to have it disabled.

If you disable the Multifactor authentication from the Multi-factor authentication in the Active Users, it will not matter as the system will still be enabled.

Before proceeding, a group should be created for example MFA Excluded and put the users needed in the group.

For this and the new portal changes Microsoft have done, you need to get into the Entra ID admin portal.

Click on Protection from the side pane and click on Authentication Methods.



Click on Policies and click on Microsoft Authenticator.

Click on the Exclude tab and add the group that was created earlier.

This should allow you to use an account without MFA.

Disable new search bar in Outlook 365

OK. There is a way to disable this new search box in Microsoft Office 365. For Outlook:

1. Open Outlook 365.
2. On the lower left-hand corner click options.
3. In the User Interface options under the General Tab, click the checkbox Collapse the Microsoft Search box by default.
4. Click OK.

The search box will now disappear. However, disabling this option would only work on that application. If you open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you will need to do these same steps to disable the search box (if present) as well. Let me know if this works for you.

 

Intune MFA

Hello. We will soon switch over to Intune for our Mobil Device Management (we currently use Centrify). We also use ServiceNow(SN) for incident management. We would like require MFA when users Log into SN from outside of
our network (ie on their home computer). ServiceNow's MFA is not user friendly. Do you know if we can use Intune for this? Currently, SN uses our on-prem Active Directory for Authentication. I heard Azure AD could possibly be used for SN MFA, but I am not
sure if that is possible.

Any help/suggestions that you have would be appreciated.
