  1. Getting Authenticator sign-in requests randomly

I am getting Authenticator sign-in requests; obviously from other people trying to access my account. My question is - for the push notification to be sent to my phone to approve gives me 3 numbers to chose from, then select Approve, then asks for my fingerprint, does the person need to know my email AND password in order for the notification to be sent? Thanks.

    :)

  2. Microsoft Authenticator will not automatically detect the sign in request starting today......

It worked all the time before up until today when I try to sign into my outlook.com and there is no two step authenticator sign in request received on my iphone. But if I go into the Microsoft Authenticator app itself and click check for notifications,
I then receive the sign in request. But what I want is the old behavior where the notification will show up automatically. (I did not turn off Microsoft Authenticator notification, the notification in the iphone setting app are all enabled.)

  3. Sign in request in authenticator app

Since yesterday there were 2 sign in requests in my Microsoft authenticator app.

I have had my Microsoft account for over 10 years and never had this happen before.

My password is safe and there is no way anyone knows it.

How do they get the sign in request to the authenticator app without the password and is there a way for me to make my account safer.

The email adress I use for this account is very old and simple. Can I use a newer adress for sign-ins and if so how?

Sign in request in authenticator app

Whenever a user with 2fa enabled signs into their account they will receive a request to access the account via email, text or app. You can then deny or approve the request if using an app or if sent a code via text/email to ignore it. Thus when someone with the account details try’s logging in from an unknown device it’ll sent the authentication request to the app automatically.
It sounds like the log in request was denied via an authentication app.
Is there any chance your pc has malware/keylogger installed? If each password is unique then the password has been compromised somehow or an app with automatic login is trying to sign in.
I would change the password for the account via a different device or via the browser’s in private mode.
