Windows 10: Owner Lost Access to GroupMe Chat

I am the Owner of a GroupMe chat and when I access my group to add a member and it would not process after several tries. Then the app prompted me for my username and password. I've never had to do this since installing the app on my telephone and Macbook. I then tried to access my group on my Mac and received the same prompt for my username and password. I went through those steps and it appears I now have a new account and can't access my private group. Please help.

Lost access to my GroupMe account groups

Hi -

I have had a GroupMe account associated with my phone number for several years. Upon trying to open an attachment sent is a GroupMe chat, it opened up a browser and prompted me for username and password. I never had a password with my GroupMe account since I set it up in the iPhone app. So I then went to a PC and tried to associate an email address with my account, and it seemed to have started a new account. Is there any way I can regain access to my GroupMe account associated with my phone number? I have lost all access to the groups I was in, and need them to correspond with my kids' little teams they are on.

GroupMe is listed on the Microsoft page, but it is impossible to get digital accessibility information regarding it, or reach anyone at Microsoft with the question. No mention of accessibility features or updates, VPAT or ACR. And impossible to reach the Microsoft 'live chat' or a phone number.
