Windows 10: Dropdown box not showing for multiple displays option in settings despite being directly...

I have 2 identical all-in-one notebooks, the HP detachable 10-p0XX, that I want to connect the detached screen portion of one to use as an extra display screen with the other one. I tried connecting it wirelessly, but it only recognized it as audio. I purchased a micro to micro HDMI cable to directly connect them. I have restarted both devices while using the cable. Under settings->display->multiple displays, it is not bringing up the dropbox with options which indicates that even though the cable is physically connecting them, my computer is still not recognizing the second device. You may want to answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

1. May I know the make and model of the PC?
   
2. Did you try updating your display driver?
   
3. Are you getting any error message?
   

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Steps 1:

1. Go to settings
   
2. Click on “System"
   
3. Then click on Display
   
4. Move your mouse to the monitor that needs to be set as primary and check the box
   "Make this my main display"
   
5. Under "Multiple displays" select "Duplicate these displays"
   
6. Then select “Keep this display settings”
   

Once you make these changes, you may restart the computer and check.

"Multiple Displays" dropdown box menu missing

wish you could help me. i just purchased a new ACER desktop with an extra monitor. Tried to change the "multiple displays" setting to extended displays but it the dropdown box menu is missing. I am using Windows 10 home single language

Hi. I have Windows 11 and if I use Save As in Documents the dropdown box displays most recent files then folders but I want an alphabetical list as I can't find things quickly when they are jumbled up. How do I change the dropdown menu to alphabetical please?
