Windows 10: Microsoft News app gets update all the time and never be able to open

Microsoft News version 1.0.2.0 always get updates from Microsoft Store and never be able to open even after an update and it repeats the update after finishing the update.Windows 11 detail:Edition Windows 11 Home Insider Preview Single Language Version Dev Installed on ‎05-‎Oct-‎24 Evaluation expires on ‎16-‎Sep-‎25 04:16 OS build 27718.1000 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.23.0

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Not able to open preinstalled apps

To understand the issue better, I would like to know are you log-in using Microsoft account?

Check for the Windows updates, if any Windows updates is available install the same and check if it helps.

If the issue still persist, I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue still persist. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz and press Enter.
  
• Click on Add button and create a new user account.
