Hi, I've been having too many issues with my pc that I'm considering just throwing it out and getting a completely new system since I can't figure out the problem. It always BSODs, restarts randomly and no matter what I do to try find out the issue myself nothing seems to be found. Tried running /sfc scannow and memory diagnosis and nothing was found. So after a year of having to deal with this I'm at my wits end so this is one of my final attempts to try figuring out the issue. I've been logging everything that's gone wrong with my pc which I'll list below as well as provide the 5 recent mini

  2. PC restarts randomly with no BSOD

    Dear saadmohiuddin,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Thank you for providing detailed information about your system and the issues you're encountering. I'm sorry to hear about the persistent random restarts you're experiencing. Let's try a few additional steps to diagnose and potentially resolve this problem:

    1. Check for Overheating: Since the issue occurs frequently during gaming, it could be related to your system overheating. Monitor the temperature of your CPU and GPU closely using software like HWMonitor or Speccy. Ensure your cooling system is working properly and that all fans are clean and unobstructed.
    2. Test Your Power Supply Unit (PSU): A failing PSU can cause the system to restart unexpectedly. If possible, test with another PSU to see if the issue persists. Ensure that all cables are securely connected and that your PSU has enough wattage to support all your components, especially under load.
    3. Memory Test: Faulty RAM can also cause random restarts. Run a memory test to check for any errors with your RAM:
      • Type Windows Memory Diagnostic into the Windows search bar and select the option to restart your computer and check for memory problems.
      • Alternatively, you can use MemTest86 to perform a more thorough check. Run it for at least 4-6 hours to ensure thorough testing.
    4. Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure: This setting, if enabled, can cause the system to restart without displaying any error message. Here’s how to disable it:
      • Right-click on 'This PC' and select 'Properties'.
      • Click on 'Advanced system settings' and then go to the 'Advanced' tab.
      • Under 'Startup and Recovery', click 'Settings'.
      • Uncheck 'Automatically restart' under 'System failure'.
If you've gone through all these steps and the issue persists, it might be helpful to look at reinstalling Windows cleanly one more time to rule out any software conflicts that might have been carried over even after reverting back to Windows 10. Also, consider visiting a professional if the hardware tests (especially the PSU and RAM) suggest no issues.

Please keep me updated on your progress, and don’t hesitate to ask if you need further assistance.

  3. PC Randomly Restarting after installing new Ram!

Tried your suggestions, but still had a restart! Also ran memtest overnight (13 hours according to memtest) and had no errors! Also ran Passmark Burn in test for a couple hours testing everything and had no errors or restart. Could fitting the new ram have triggered something to go bad like my mobo or psu?

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:
