Windows 10: Vankoy leisure 470 Projector "invalid format" error message

I am struggling to get my Vankoy leisure 470 projector to work with my Acer Laptop. It worked well the first few times for viewing movies, but one day I tried to project a PowerPoint and suddenly displayed an "invalid format" error message, and never worked again. • Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using? To check it, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the Enter key.
• Is the issue the same when using a different HDMI cord?
• Have you tried using the projector to a different laptop and check if the issue persists?

aaxa pico projector "invalid format" with HDMI

I have an aaxa pico projector (Model P1-J) that I use with my Windows 10 laptop computer. The projector connects via a HDMI to mini HDMI cord. It worked well once or twice, however, now I only get an apparent error message that states "invalid format."
I did contact aaxa with this problem and they stated that they believe it is a Windows 10 problem as they have had several customers complain of the same or similar problem.

I need a fix or work around for this as I need the projector to work for presentations on a daily basis. I am leaning toward this being a Windows 10 problem because it did work flawlessly before and nothing has changed on my laptop except for the occasional
windows update. I have attempted to change the screen resolution as other blogs have suggested with no change in the status.

Please, pretty please, someone tell me how to fix this.

Windows Update or through the manufacturer's website.
