Slight static which goes on and off when i connect any earphone via the 3.5mm jack !

So i recently purchased Helios 16 2023 model 13700hx+4060. When i connect my earphones via the 3.5 mm jack there is very slight static/hissing which isn't really bothersome but still present and it concerns me whether this is a hardware defect or a software problem which has troubleshooted somehow, couldn't really find any solution so had to make a post. Also I've tested out 2 of my earphones and its not a fault in them. So what could be the most likely cause and solution to it? Also about the static, it comes on just before i play some audio and stops a few seconds after the audio stops. Wh

  2. Audio static when earphones plugged in

Hi I'm having trouble with my audio jack.

I had my bluetooth speaker connected and plugged in my earphones while they were connected.

I immediately disconnected the speaker but my earphones now have heavy static. I tried a different pair of earphones but the static is still there.

I don't think it's a driver problem because this seemed more like the process of changing from speaker to earphones changed it, not a random change in the driver's status.

I've done the audio troubleshooting, it just tells me to change the enhancements, besides having turned all of them of, as it proposed.

I've deleted and reinstalled the driver for the speaker, I'll try doing it for the earphones now, but I doubt it will help.

Tried restarting the laptop, nothing either.

Please help I need to use my earphones for teamspeak with my friends, I'm a competitive player and not having stereo sound can be very frustrating.

  3. Static in Headphone Jack on PC

    Hello,

Recently, the headphone jack on my Dell Inspiron 17 5000 laptop has produced static sounds whenever I plugged anything in. It produces a mildly sharp snapping sound when using anything I tested in the jack; using speakers is fine because i cannot hear it,
but using headphones or earphones is compromised because the sound is right next to your ear. It goes away after sound has not been used for a while on the PC and it is the same volume despite the PC volume except when it is muted, when it lowers in volume
or goes away. Anything not going though the headphone jack, such as the laptop's built-in speakers, appear to be working fine, with no static. The issue has existed for about a month; I've had the PC for about
    1 and 1/2 yrs.

In advance, thank you for any help.

    N82 earphone jack wobbling slightly!

    Thanks psycho.

I've done some quick browsing and I've found out that the earphone connector module on the N82 (and probably all nokias that has an earphone jack) isn't directly soldered to the motherboard. the earphone module sits on the casing and is only "sandwiched"
with the motherboard. the earphone module has six bending metallic "legs" that touch metallic points on the motherboard when the case is closed.

My theory is that the bending/"springy" pins/legs of the earphone jack module causes the slight wobbling and should not cause any damage as the hole for the jack on the casing prevents it from wobbling wide enough to cause damage to the pins and motherboard.

This doesn't mean though that wobbling the earphone connector is good and 100% harmless. We should avoid wobbling it unnecessarily as psycho said as it will cause damage over time.
