Windows 10: HDMI port is not working but C-type port is working for display

My HDMI port has randomly stopped working twice. The first time I assumed it was the cable, so I bought a new cable, and that seemed to fix the issue. However, it has only been a few weeks later, and the new cable has also stopped working. I decided to test the same cable on my PlayStation, and the HDMI cable seems to be working fine with the same monitor. I then tested the C-type cable to connect the laptop to my monitor, and it seemed to work fine. Does anyone have any idea why just the HDMI port on my laptop randomly stops working?Appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Display Port to HDMI

W10 pro I have a monitor with only HDMI input.computer I want to ues it with only has display port output.Use is just basic office type applications and internet use.Are there any display Port to HDMI adapters that actually works well?

 

Type C HDMI port

Hi,

My laptop is HP, it has "charge while sleeping" option (meaning working like a powerbank for phone even when i shut laptop down).

Recently i use its HDMI port (type C) to connect to an external monitor.

Problem is when i shut my laptop down, i left the HDMI cable as it is, then the monitor drain my laptop battery (40% overnight).

I turn this "sleep charge" feature off in BIOS but then the port stop working too.

I dont want to plug the cable out each time because the port is old and sluggish, cant plug in my laptop 24/7 neither.

Is there another way?

Display port for HDMI not working

I cannot get the second monitor to work. It seems there is no output signal from display port for HDMI. I'm wondering if there is some setting that need to be done? (The monitor (HP LA2306x) is working fine with another computer)
