Windows 10: How to prevent Windows from losing monitor Portrait rotation after GPU swap

Hi, I have a system with multiple monitors with one of the screens set to a Portrait orientation. I have some scenarios where the Graphics Card is swapped, but the monitor configuration is kept identical.Every time I swap GPU, the main screen keeps it's resolution and DPI settings, but it loses the Orientation setting. Very odd!To me it looks like Windows is reverting back to 'Landscape' mode to return to a safer 'default' display state.Is there a way to FORCE windows to never ever ditch the set display rotation? I have confirmed that the rotation is set within the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACH

This question concerns an HP x360. This is a type of notebook computer that converts to a tablet by pivoting the display and leaves the keyboard exposed on the bottom surface. In the tablet mode, the display will respond to the direction of gravity and change from landscape to portrait mode. Under Settings, Display, the Rotation Lock is greyed out and enabled. I interpret this to mean that rotation is not locked because greyed out means the enabled state is ignored. I want to prevent automatic display rotation that responds to gravity. I want to lock the rotation in the mode of my choice. How would I do that, please?

 

Surface Pro (2017) Display on External Monitor rotated

I have a New Surface Pro, and a Dell U2518D monitor. I rotated the monitor into portrait mode, and the image rotated just fine. Now, it won't go back. Surface is in Portrait, and monitor image remains rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise. I cannot get it to
rotate back. So for now, I'm adapting to a full time Portrait Mode external monitor.

If I rotate the Surface, the orientation on Surface Screen switches, but the orientation of monitor refuses to adjust.

Called Dell support, and they were helpful, but the conclusion after trying all sorts of options was, "It's a setting somewhere in windows."

Notably, connected Monitor to old Viao via HDMI, and the monitor showed correctly in landscape, but it would not rotate to Portrait.

Any ideas?
